PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Using New York State as a case study of the first statewide effort to expand mobile methadone units, this mixed-methods study will evaluate the impact of the mobile methadone program on health outcomes, patient and provider experiences, and cost considerations to inform long-term sustainability.
Through a unique partnership between academic researchers and New York State government officials, and a national stakeholder engagement and dissemination plan that draws direct input from individuals with living experience on methadone, this work will inform real-world practices that can improve access to treatment, reduce overdose and improve population health across the U.S.
