April 20th (4/20) is widely recognized as an informal holiday associated with cannabis culture, during which people gather to consume cannabis, particularly in public spaces and social settings. This study will examine cannabis use and sales during the 2025 4/20 weekend.

The aims for this pilot study are to:

• Explore patterns of cannabis use, purchasing behaviors, product preferences, and cannabis related harms during 4/20 weekend in New York City.
• Document characteristics of the informal cannabis market during two 4/20 events in New York City.
