The Montclair State University (MSU) harm reduction initiative is aimed at evaluating and addressing substance use treatment and harm reduction-related needs and gaps in the northern New Jersey region and beyond.

Project activities include, but are not limited to:

• Designing and implementing a needs assessment of harm reduction-related resources and gaps
• Creating and implementing a harm reduction certificate for graduate and undergraduate students interested in the field, as well as current professionals
• Creating and piloting continuing education courses on opioid use and harm reduction for various service providers
• Community mobilization and media engagement activities designed to reduce stigma and improve stakeholders` support for the expansion of harm reduction services
