Research Interests

  • Understanding and addressing the psychosocial and neuro-biological sequelae of trauma, chronic stress, and victimization among homeless youth, particularly as they pertain to risk for HIV
  • Developmental transitions among homeless youth and other adolescents at risk, particularly in the area of employment
  • HIV prevention and HIV testing among adolescents at risk
  • Gender, age, and racial/ethnic disparities in AIDS clinical trials and health care
  • Risk and adaptation among youth affected by HIV and substance abuse
  • Development and evaluation of theoretically-informed interventions to address mental health problems, substance abuse, HIV risk, health disparities, and other issues
