PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A portfolio of activities supported the first state-level HCV elimination initiative in the United States, including:

  1. Upstate Study for Infectious Disease Elimination (UPSIDE) – project to understand HIV and HCV prevalence, risk, and care among persons who inject drugs in three upstate New York communities;
  2. Evaluation of pilot studies of innovative models for HCV care delivery – program evaluation for three AIDS Institute-funded pilot programs to integrate HCV care into syringe exchange programs, in order to increase HCV treatment levels among person who inject drugs;
  3. Coordination of data and metrics for the NYS Hepatitis C Elimination Initiative – coordinate the design of a system to monitor progress towards 2030 elimination goals, and provide annual data and progress reports.
