PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is confronting major public health challenges including tobacco use. The Public Health Research Center in Abu Dhabi conducted a large cohort study among Emiratis to identify the determinants of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The study also assessed local patterns of tobacco use and developed interventions appropriate for the population.
