HOTIE Study: HIV Oral Testing Infographic Experiment
Funded by: Research Education Institute for Diverse Scholars (REIDS) via Yale CIRA
Project dates: July 2017 - May 2020
Principal Investigator: Ramos, S. Raquel
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This study developed and tested an integrated HIV self-testing strategy that utilized a simplicity-model approach to determine the essential components necessary to present HIV self-testing instructions in a meaningful, relevant, and comprehensible way. The results of this study have the potential to inform recommendations regarding how HIV in-home testing materials are worded, or visually presented, to break literacy and language barriers that affect the accuracy and utilization of self-testing.
