PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project examines the financing and governance decisions shaping broader public investments from the opioid settlement funds in New Jersey. The aim is to construct a longitudinal database of opioid settlement allocations and spending from 2023–2026, examine investments alongside indicators of overdose burden and population need, and conduct interviews with state and local policymakers. These analyses will explore how allocation decisions are made, whose priorities shape them, and whether investments are transparent, equitable, and evidence-informed.
